Phyllis Tucker-Saunders has over two decades of experience as a teacher, facilitator and event planner. She has a reputation of being engaged, organized and results oriented. She is currently seeking her Masters of Theological Studies degree at Wesley Theological Seminary. She is also a Field Education Apprentice at Capitol Hill Presbyterian Church. It's Time To Exhale! (Dealing With Change)
Our past experiences, like an octopus, have tentacles which entangle physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of life. These tentacles reach beyond the present and have inter-generational effects. The So-Called Biblical Curse of the Black Man - Many are led to believe that slavery and skin color of Blacks are in fulfillment of a Biblical curse. It is used by some to justify their prejudice against people of African descent and to claim divine sanction for slavery and segregation. The influence is so powerful because the assertion is made by “good church folk.” The notion still persist today that Blacks are cursed according to the Bible.
