This Wednesday, 6:30-8:00 pm at La Madeleine French Café (7607 Old Georgetown Rd.), our dynamic friend from CASA de Maryland Lindolfo Carballo -- pictured during his October visit to us -- will join us again. Lindolfo is Senior Director of Economic Community Development at CASA.
Joining Lindolfo will be DREAMers Reyna Montoya and Javier Noris of Aliento -- an AZ-based organization "Building Power Through Art". Reyna and Javier are DREAMers spearheading an effort this week to lobby Republican and Democratic lawmakers on The Hill for a "Clean DREAM" Act. A bipartisan DREAM Act would allow permanent residency for 800,000 immigrants who entered the U.S. under the age of 18 and have resided here four-plus years -- and it would be "clean" granted it is not tied to increases in border enforcement, immigrant detention, or building a border wall.
