The church is engaged in Miriam’s Kitchen which, in addition to providing direct services, works to end chronic homelessness in DC. They also partner with Project Create, which promotes positive youth development through arts education and enrichment. The congregation provides space to the Imago Center's psychotherapist, Lena Aburdene Derhally.
Western also partners with the following agencies and organizations:
More Light Presbyterians; Open Doors ; Calvary Women’s Shelter; Coalition to Stop Gun Violence; Presbyterian Disaster Assistance; Potomac Conservancy; Rev. César Carhuachín (Colombia) and Janet Guyer (Africa); Heeding God’s Call; HIPS; Greater Washington Interfaith Power and Light; Fresh Farms Markets.
Western is also active in advocacy, and has begun the Micah 6:8 Initiative - a program that shares opportunities for advocacy around immigration, racism, etc.
